Thankfully we did not visit yelp before we stopped by this restaurant. We are very surprised to see the low rating. This place was great. Food was amazing and service was great.

Take the negative reviews and run.
Probably the worst food eaten in Italy to date.
The bread was dense and stale. No plates to put it on.
The Caesar Salad tasted like Kraft Dinner ranch dressing. Probably twice the amount of dressing necessary. No parmigiana or fresh crack pepper offered.
The seafood pasta was bland and lacked seafood.
The pork in lemon sauce was mediocre.
The grilled vegetables were reheated not freshly grilled.
Overall it was a huge disappointment.
Don't eat here. -

As a large-ish group we had been turned away by several cosy little osterias that would have been our first, second and third choices before coming across this massive restaurant.
It is never an encouraging sign when waiters accost you in the street and literally drag you into their restaurant. This was our first night in Venice and we were hungry, so in we went.
The waiters were super friendly but in the let's-entertain-the-tourists kind. The food was OK, the bill as expected with the usual extras of cover charge and service charge.
They are very pushy upselling deserts and coffees and to make sure we write a review of your experience, so here you are. With a little planning you can do a lot better in Cannareggio and book one of the more romantic restaurants in advance. You could also do a lot worse. -

Unfortunately, they don't allow 0 stars. Now let me be fair. The food is good, actually pretty tasty and good sized portions. However, this place has become a tourist trap. That's unfortunate, we've been coming here for 20 years and this place now tries to take advantage of tourists by pretending not to understand when its most convenient for them to up-sale food, or especially beverages.
These guys intentionally pretended not to offer house wine and instead upsold a 40euro bottle of wine and then charged for two bottles of water without asking. Ultimately, they upcharged a table of 5 almost 50 euros.
If you don't care, great food, but there are so many better places to to go in Venice.
Its a shame they have become yet another tourist trap. Sad, very sad.
Personally, we will never come back. -

AVOID! Tourist trap. Food is okay. They up sell water and wine. We asked for a carafe of "vino de la casa rosso" and they then charged us 44 euro for a bottle of Valpolicella pretending that they didn't sell a litro of house wine (which they do). When we questioned on the cost of the wine, they said we should have asked if we had questions.... Beware! I'll never go back here. You shouldn't either. There are plenty of better places.
